Development Applications

If you are proposing to build, alter, demolish, excavate or change the use of a building you need to be sure that the proposal is permissible and whether it is 'development' that requires consent from Council. The Gloucester Local Environmental Plan 2000 identifies the types of development that require consent and those that may be exempt.

Council requests that potential applicants contact the Planning and Environment Department to firstly determine whether development consent is required and secondly to advise on the information that may be required to accompany your development application.

Depending on the type of development proposed, discussion with staff can help identify any potential issues and how they may be overcome prior to lodging the application. By discussing your development proposal and providing all the relevant information upfront with your application the processing time of your application can be significantly reduced.

Development application forms may be downloaded from the Planning & Building Documents section of this website.
