The Gloucester Shire Library provides access to a range of resources and is a place where the community can connect with information for educational and recreational needs, including: 
      
Access to informative, educational and recreational resources in a wide range of formats:

-   Free access to the internet and email facilities;
-   Community space for exhibitions and events;
-   Children programmes, including story time and Library school visits;
-   Resources for the hearing and sight impaired;
-   Research and homework assistance.
     

As a member of the Newcastle Region Library, Gloucester Library has access to a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction titles not otherwise available. All Gloucester Library members can visit the Newcastle library online and review the extensive archival material held by the libraries of the Hunter Region.
